Manchester Evening News were invited for a guided tour of the facility in Garrett Way. Gorton's public library closed on November 5 and is combining with Gorton's Hub to bring a new vibrant space.

The library features an easy check out self service system where you will have the ability to rent, return and extend the time you borrow your books for.

One of the most important aspects of the Hub is teaching the community around the history of Gorton. The Library will include memorabilia and murals showcasing some of the past events and details of the area's history.

Shaun Jones, the North West director for Morgan Standall Construction, told the MEN: “It’s been a pleasure working so closely with the city council to maximise the positive impact the Gorton Hub will bring. Together, we have created £16m of social value.

"This is phenomenal and will leave a legacy in Gorton for years to come - we’re looking forward to seeing the local and economic growth that follows.”
