First footage from the scene as forensic officers descend on Seaham street

Forensics officers have been deployed as part of an ongoing investigation on a street in County Durham.

A large cordon is in place on Marlborough, in Seaham, which is being patrolled by officers.

There has been a police presence, including a crime scene investigation unit, on the street since around 8am on Wednesday.

A tent has been erected at the scene with forensic officers seen in the area dressed in full body suits.

The North East Ambulance Service confirmed they were called at 8am to a report of an injured man.

A double-crewed ambulance and an officer were dispatched but a spokeswoman could not provide any further details.

Footage from the scene shows a number of police vehicles at the scene and forensic officers conducting searches as inquiries continue.

Durham Constabulary has been contacted for comment.
