A man in the Philippines has become the first person to die outside of China from coronavirus.
In a statement, the Philippine Department of health said the 44 year-old, from Wuhan, was admitted to Manila hospital, in the city's capital, on January 25.
He was suffering with a fever, cough and sore throat when admitted before developing severe pneumonia.
The 38-year-old woman he was with tested positive for the virus and remains in hospital isolation.
This latest development brings confirmed cases of the infection to more that 14,000 and the death toll is now more than 300.
On Friday evening, 83 Brit Wuhan evacuees arrived at the Arrowe Park Hospital on the Wirral where they will spend a fortnight in quarantine.
The flight landed at the Brize Norton RAF base in Oxfordshire at around 1.30pm on Friday before the convoy made the trip up the M6 motorway to the hospital.
The Britons will be housed in an NHS staff accommodation block where they are being given fully-furnished rooms, food, and laundry facilities as well as being monitored by medical staff.
It was also confirmed on Saturday morning that one of the two UK nationals who were diagnosed with coronavirus in the UK is a student at the University of York, a university spokesman said.
Both patients are being treated by Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in its specialist Airborne High Consequences Infectious Disease Centre (HCID).
