Fireworks set off outside Brentford's hotel ahead of Everton clash

Fireworks were set off outside Brentford's team hotel in the early hours ahead of their clash with Everton later today.

The West London club are set to take on an Everton side desperate to secure Premier League survival. Kick off is at 4.30pm today.

Footage shows fireworks light up the sky outside the Innside Hotel in Liverpool city centre at around 3.30am as the Brentford team slept inside having made the journey up to face Frank Lampard's team at Goodison Park

The video appears to show a single man igniting the fireworks from a grass embankment close to the hotel. This comes after similar scenes prior to Everton's Chelsea clash earlier this month as fireworks were set off outside the Chelsea team's hotel in the early hours of matchday. The Toffees would ultimately go on to secure a vital 1-0 win in that game.

A spokesperson for Brentford FC confirmed fireworks were set off outside the team hotel early this morning and expected manager Thomas Frank to make a statement after the game. Merseyside Police were approached for a comment.
