Firefighters use hacksaw to remove POTTY that got stuck on two-year-old boy's head in Aldi

Firefighters were called to a South Shields supermarket after a POTTY got stuck on a two-year-old boy's head.

Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service sent one crew on Thursday afternoon from South Shields to the Aldi on Chichester Road following a report that a potty was stuck on a youngster's head.

A hacksaw was used to remove the potty from the boy, who escaped without injury, in just a matter of minutes.

A spokesperson said: "We were called out on the afternoon of Thursday May 16 to the Aldi store on Chichester Road in South Shields after a report that a potty was stuck on a two-year-old boy's head.

"One crew was dispatched to the scene from South Shields.

"The potty was removed from the boy's head by firefighters using a hacksaw in two minutes.

"The boy was fine and did not sustain any injuries from the incident."

Firefighters also responded to a call-out on Friday in the Newcastle area after a young child got their leg stuck in a climbing frame.

Meanwhile a crew from Gosforth released a two-year-old who was locked in a car in West Moor on Friday morning.
