A home has been damaged after flames erupted inside a kitchen at North Lambton on Monday afternoon.
Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews from Lambton and Mayfield West brigades rushed to respond to reports of a house fire on Andrew Close just before 3.30pm on May 25.
Firefighters at the scene discovered smoke billowing from the roof of a single-storey house.
Crews gained entry to the property and extinguished the fire, which was located in the kitchen.
Firefighters were able to contain the flames to the kitchen and stop them spreading through the rest of the home.

A FRNSW spokesperson said the house suffered water and smoke damage as a result of the emergency operation.
NSW Police also attended the scene and Newcastle officers have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire, according to the FRNSW spokesperson.
The FRNSW spokesperson said generally that it was a timely reminder that the leading cause of house fires in NSW was leaving cooking unattended.
"Stay in the kitchen while cooking and turn off the stove before you leave," they said.
It came after firefighters from stations at Abermain, Rutherford, Branxton and Singleton responded separately to a truck rollover on the Golden Highway near Range Road about 9.15am.
Firefighters worked on a significant clean-up operation to make the scene safe and restore the roadway.
No serious injuries were reported.
