Firefighters have been battling a major grass fire in Neath all day and are still there now

Fire crews are spending their eighth hour at the scene of an ongoing grass fire in Neath after they were called to the incident at around 9.49am on Monday, June 1.

The fire is located on grassland on the Neath Abbey side of the river in Neath, near Milland Road industrial estate.

It's not yet clear whether the fire was started deliberately, but the cause is being investigated.

A spokesman for Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: "Crews from Neath and Ammanford have attended a grass fire on the Neath Abbey side of the river in Neath.

"Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service received the call at 9.49am this morning, Monday, June 1.

"The incident is ongoing."
