Firefighters battle eight hour overnight blaze at Anniesland car wash

A car wash in Glasgow was badly damaged in a devastating fire last night.

A burnt out car was also found in the blaze on Temple Road, Anniesland.

Emergency services raced to the business at around 1.15am after the alarm was raised.

Firefighters battled the blaze near the city's canal for over eight hours with six appliances sent to the scene at the height of the flames.

Officers remain at the scene with a section of the road blocked off to locals.

They say enquiries into the incident are currently ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers are currently in attendance at Temple Road in Glasgow continuing with enquiries after fire involving a car and a building which was reported at 1.15am on Saturday, 27 March."
