Fire service statement as cause of blaze inside Nottingham care home confirmed

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service has issued a statement after multiple crews were called to a blaze at a care home.

Crews were sent to Forest Road East in Nottingham at about 6.30pm on Tuesday, March 1, to reports of the incident, with one eyewitness saying police and paramedics were also at the scene.

The fire service previously said the fire was brought under control quickly and the cause of the incident has now been confirmed.

A Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue service spokesperson said: "We received a call at 6.30pm on Tuesday 1 March to a premise on Forest Road East. Two fire engines from London Road and two from Stockhill attended.

"The fire was in a laundry room on the ground floor. Firefighters used hose reel jets and breathing apparatus to put this out. All people were accounted for."
