Fire service issue warning after finding smashed up car on Nottinghamshire Road during New Years' Eve

The fire service has issued a warning to drivers after finding a smashed up car on a Nottinghamshire road in the early hours of New Years' Eve.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service attended the incident at 4.30am on Tuesday, December 31.

A battered vehicle was found in the middle of a road in East Leake, but firefighters said the driver had left the car before the emergency services arrived.

East Leake fire station said the driver had no injuries, adding: "Take the time to drive safe and responsibly."

The vehicle could be seen visible crumpled, with debris and grass scattered across the road.
