Fire and police called to car fire in residential street near St Ann's

A car was severely damaged by fire on a residential street near St Ann's, fire crews have confirmed.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service received a call to a car fire on Gordon Road, in Thorneywood on Friday night (April 26).

The incident happened around 8pm, one crew attended and the fire was put out by 8.40pm.

There were no injuries reported.

A spokeswoman for the fire service said: "Crews from London Road, attended a car fire on Gordon Road, Thorneywood.

"The car was severly damaged by fire, fire crews used two breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, thermal image camera and small tools to extinguish. Notts Police also attended."

Three police cars were seen at the incident, but the road remained open to traffic.
