Film crews spotted at Bristol museum for major TV series

TV crews descended on Bristol this afternoon (February 19) to film for a major new series.

Several film crew lorries have been parked on University Road, and are rumoured to be in production for a hit TV show.

While it has not been officially confirmed, a security guard manning the area said that crews were in Bristol Museum to film TV series Alex Rider.

The crews were spotted in the area at around 2pm this afternoon (Friday, February 19).

The series, which streams on Amazon Prime, is based on the bestselling spy novels by author Anthony Horowitz.

Spanning 10 novels, the book series includes Stormbreaker and Point Blanc.

In 2006, a film version of 'Stormbreaker' was released, starring Alex Pettyfer.

However, a reboot has come about in the form of a series starring Otto Farrant in the titular role and 'Line of Duty' star Vicky McClure as Mrs. Jones.

The first series aired in 2020 and it looks like its success has prompted a second series of the TV show.

The story revolves around the world of Alex Rider, an otherwise ordinary teenager who is enlisted to work on behalf of MI6, where he uses skills he didn't know he had to become an extraordinary spy.
