As Future Forward Party (FFP) leader Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit battles to defend himself against shareholding violation claims, media veteran Suthichai Yoon said yesterday that mobile carrier Total Access Communication (Dtac) told him it could only release Mr Thanathorn's phone records to the man himself, not a third party.
This contradicts comments Mr Thanathorn made during a recent Suthichai Live interview, when he claimed he had authorised Dtac to grant his mother access to his records on Jan 8.
He further claimed his records were a matter of public record and anyone could look at them to back his claim that he transferred shares in V-Luck Media prior to contesting the March 24 general election.
Candidates contesting the poll were barred from holding shares in media companies to avoid conflicts of interest. Mr Thanathorn has been accused of applying to become an MP candidate while still holding the shares.
The phone records could be used to track his whereabouts on the day he transferred the shares.
