Ferrari, McLaren, Lamborghini - Glasgow's £108m supercar love affair

Glaswegians splashed out more than £108 million on new supercars in a single year.

Aston Martins, Lamborghinis, Ferraris and McLarens are among the 2,491 flash motors registered in the city last year.

Details of the city's love affair with expensive cars was revealed by the DVLA, and shows the vast majority, 1,988, belong to men.

Porche proved to be the most popular, and generally the least expensive of the high end brands, with 1,469 registered.

Bentley came next with 210 rolling off of the production line and onto the driveways of the Glasgow postcode area.

Aston Martin was third with 148 snapped up, followed by 95 Maseratis, 77 Ferraris, 32 McLaren and 29 Lamborghinis
