Felipe Contepomi explains why Romain Ntamack should get another crack against Johnny Sexton at out-half in Leinster clash

Romain Ntamack's first time going up against Johnny Sexton didn't go so well but, just six weeks later, the teenager gets the chance to make amends.

Ntamack - son of Emile, the France legend - lined out at no 10 for Les Bleus at the Aviva Stadium last month and the visitors took a hammering as Ireland lit up for the only time in this year's championship.

Sexton hasn't played since the following week's defeat to Wales but is expected to return on Sunday as Ntamack and Toulouse pitch up at the Lansdowne Road venue with a place in the Champions Cup final at stake.

He's still raw but Felipe Contepomi, who similarly burst onto the scene as an exciting young pro, believes his Toulouse should preserver with Ntamack as an out-half rather than at centre.

Door open for Paul O'Connell and Ronan O'Gara to return to Munster - Johann van Graan

Like Contepomi, Ntamack can play in both positions, but the Leinster backs coach explains here why the 19-year-old should want the no 10 jersey.

"I've been lucky that I played most of my career in club rugby as a 10," said Contepomi.

"When you play as a 10 and have the capability to play 12, it's much easier to switch from 10 to 12 than do it the other way around, which is very difficult.

"So if Toulouse see him as a 10 and play him week in, week out as a 10, yeah, put him as a 10 and he'll be more than capable of playing at 12 in a French team."

Contepomi points to his former Argentina team-mate Juan Hernandez as an example of a player who was picked by his club - Stade Francais - as a full-back and as a centre in the latter part of his career, and suffered somewhat for it.

"When he came to play 10 it was harder for him the last few years, he was taken all over the place," said Contepomi.

"As a 10 you have to playing there week in, week out. But that means that he could then play in another position, because he's very talented.

Peter O'Mahony believes Munster are well equipped to end Champions Cup heartache

"We'll see where his best position is, there are so many years to come and he's a very talented player.

"I don't know really where France see him playing, but what I can say is that French rugby, they have some very young talented players that are coming through.

"You can talk about Ntamack but (Anthony) Belleau, the Toulon no 10, is also playing.

"There are many, many good young players in France. (Antoine) Dupont is only 21 and Ntamack is 19, so it's great how he has been, as a youngster, exposed to all that rugby in the last few months. It's been unbelievable.

"But what's his best position? I don't know yet and I think he's such a good player that he's still looking for it.

"So we'll see. But he's a very talented guy".
