FED:'No to Hanson': protesters crash One Nation speech

Protesters have lashed out at the policies of One Nation outside the National Press Club as party leader Pauline Hanson prepares to a deliver a major speech.

The One Nation chief is addressing the club for the first time since her entry to federal politics 30 years ago, as the party's surging political fortunes have sent the opposition and the government scrambling to respond.

Dozens of demonstrators shouting "Pauline Hanson go to hell" gathered outside the Canberra venue before the speech.

As One Nation senators began arriving at the venue, about 40 protesters brandishing placards reading "Canberra says no to Hanson", "reject racism" and "One Nation serves the billionaires" began chanting slogans.

"Black, Indigenous, Arab nation and white - unite, unite, unite to fight the right" they yelled.
