Police are still searching for a missing man who is believed to have left home and headed towards the River Mersey eight days ago. Ronald Roose, 88, was reported missing on November 27 - with the efforts to trace him so far proving unsuccessful.
Greater Manchester Police said on December 2 that they were becoming 'increasingly concerned' about the pensioner who went missing in south Manchester. Three days on, the force confirmed he is still missing with investigations into his disappearance continuing.
Ronald was last seen at his home on Bankside Road in East Didsbury at around 8pm on Sunday (November 27). Police believe he walked out of his back garden and onto the river bank pathways of the River Mersey.
He walked somewhere between the Kingsway and the Old Bedians sports fields, police believe. Officers do not know where he went from there.
A major appeal for information was launched following his disappearance, with police issuing two new images of Ronald on December 2. In an update on December 5, police said the 88-year-old is still missing with investigations continuing.
Ronald is described as being a white male, who is of slim build and around 5ft 6in tall. He is balding with grey hair. He was last seen wearing dark-coloured walking shoes, black cotton loose-fitting jogging bottoms and a dark-coloured half-zip fleece pullover. He is not believed to be wearing a jacket or coat.
Anyone with information about Ron’s whereabouts should contact police on 101 or 999 in an emergency.
