Farmfoods takes on new West Midlands warehouse space

Frozen food supermarket chain Farmfoods has taken on a new warehouse in the West Midlands.

The company has agreed a 20-year lease on the Solihull 262 unit, just two weeks after the previous tenant vacated the space.

The 262,114 sq ft distribution facility is in Highlands Road, two miles from the M42.

Farmfoods has been located in a unit next to Solihull 262 and was in need of expansion to accommodate its growing business.

Anthony McCluskie, UK director of asset management with landlord Logicor, said: "Strong consumer demand is driving the UK e-commerce and food sectors to accelerate their long-term strategic requirements for large, grade A logistics space.

"As such, we had a lot of interest in Solihull 262, with a high number of tenant viewings.

"The end result is the letting to Farmfoods on a long-term lease, with a very short void period."

JLL, DTRE and McGuinness Waddington Real Estate acted as joint letting agencies.
