Ahead of Farmer Wants A Wife (FWAW) 2025’s grand finale, a former winner has revealed an “obvious” behind-the-scenes detail most contestants know about before the big finish.
Unfortunately, for punters who froth a bit of country drama and romance, FWAW 2025 is in its final week, with Farmer Jack and Corey choosing their (potential) wives.
And just like most reality TV shows, everyone and their mama has been tossing in their two cents on who the farmers will pick.
However, according to 2023 FWAW winner Olivia Benic — who won Farmer Matt‘s heart — the finales aren’t all that.
Speaking to Yahoo! Lifestyle, Benic spilled that most final two contestants know they’re ‘the one’ waaaaaay before grand finale week.
“Matt had already told me he was going to pick me,” she dished, dropping the massive behind-the-scenes secret.
“I’m sorry, but if you don’t know if you’re the final pick, you’re not the final pick. The farmer will always tell you. I’m watching some of the girls this season, and I’m like, they know. It’s obvious every year.”

In her mammoth tea spill to the publication, the 2023 victor claimed that FWAW producers split the remaining ladies into “winner” or “runner-up” groups.
“So if you’re with a group of girls that you know are going to win, you’re probably also going to win. And then if you’re with the losers, you’re part of the losers,” she told the publication before adding that in her season, all of the final ladies stayed in Sydney before being split up for the finale.
“They moved half of us to one location and half of us to the other, and they travelled us all in separate cars, and we didn’t know who was with who,” she explained.
“But then they accidentally mixed up me and Annabelle [Greenaway], so then they had to swap me and Annabelle, and she figured out that she was with the girls who weren’t going to win because everyone talks to each other.
“So they made a big kerfuffle and Annabelle cried and cried for the two days prior to the final decision and knew that she wasn’t going to end up with Matt.”
Ayiyiyi. I mean, if I were Annabelle, I would’ve been bawling too. Like, what a way to catch the hint that things are over, right?
That being said, it makes so much sense why so many farmers picked their wives earlier this season — and also why so many of the contestants picked to leave ahead of the farewell dinners.
It honestly reminds me of how the girls are moving in today’s dating scene, with all of us (trying) not to waste time!
Anyways, super keen to see who gets picked tonight, but I reckon Farmer Jack is gunning for Sarah and Keeley will be Corey’s pick, but we’ll have to wait and see.
