Farmer Wants A Wife’s Rachael Defends Clarette After She Copped Backlash From Fans

In true wholesome Farmer Wants A Wife (FWAW) spirit, 2025’s Rachael has stood up for her co-star and winner Clarette after she copped a shit-tonne of hate from viewers while the show was on the air.

ICYMI, FWAW for 2025 has officially come to a close with all five farmers finding love. Shortly after the finale, Rachael — who appeared on the show for Farmer Thomas published a lengthy Substack article recounting her experience on the chaotic reality TV rodeo.

Within the article, Rachael slammed the “characterisation” of Farmer Thomas’ winner, Clarette, admitting that the online barrage of hate against her friend has left her “hurt”.

“I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t deeply hurt by the characterisation of my friend Clarette,” she began.

“For someone I know personally to receive such negativity and criticism has been difficult to observe, and I’m not even the person experiencing it. It wouldn’t be in my nature not to speak up about someone I care about. She is strong, brave, incredibly kind and knows her worth.

“I was (and still am) incredibly grateful for all her support, now and throughout filming, especially when we were navigating our own individual feelings and connections.”

Furthermore in her Substack, Rachael mentioned that all the contestants were “aware” about what could happen by appearing on a reality TV Show, but reminded viewers that at the end of the day that they’re just humans taking a shot at love.

“Trust me, we are all very aware [that] in future our selves will be served up on a platter ready for commentary, but it’s not the reason we do it — nor do we hope for or anticipate the level of unkindness she has experienced,” Rachael penned.

“It’s important for everyone to remember that we are just a bunch of gals, and farmers, real people out there being vulnerable as all hell, trying to genuinely bumble our way through dating. It’s that simple.”

This isn’t the first time someone has clocked FWAW and its viewers for their treatment of Clarette during this year’s show. Last year’s winner, Daisy Lamb, said she agreed the teacher was getting the “villain edit” and urged viewers to “calm down” with the hate.

“Villain edit 100 per cent. She is lovely, according to other ladies on that farm,” Lamb told Yahoo! Lifestyle.

“Y’all need to calm down.”

At the time of writing, Clarette hasn’t broken her silence on the show, her edit or the scathing fan opinions. Honestly, kudos to Clarette for putting herself out there for a chance at love. I think she’s just one of those baddies who know what they want, and don’t wanna fuck around!

And, at the end of the day, it bloody paid off because she’s lassoed in a farmer!!! It’s what she deserves.

Farmer Wants A Wife 2025 can now be streamed on 7plus.
