On Monday night, all five of our country hunks of spunks were set up with a potential new match by their nearest and dearest. While most of the farmers ended up taking their intruders back to the farm — with Farmer Jarrad getting sent straight to the dog house for the way he handled the introduction of his new lady, and the fact that they shared a steamy snog in a hot tub — Farmer Alex was the only one who didn’t bring his lady back.
The decision to not bring back Maddison — his intruder chosen by his parents — came as a surprise as the pair shared quite the chemistry on their hiking date. However, when he returned back to the farm alone, he assured his OG ladies, “I feel like we’ve already got enough going here”.

Why didn’t Farmer Alex bring back Maddison to the farm?
Speaking to TV Week, the 29-year-old revealed Alex had admitted to developing “a stronger connection with someone” before making his decision to not bring her into the reality TV rodeo.
“Alex was honest with me and explained that he had developed a stronger connection with someone else. While it was difficult to hear, I respected his decision,” Maddison dished.
“I appreciated that he was upfront rather than leading me on, and I think that honesty is important in any relationship. I cannot argue with love, nor would I want someone to pursue me if they had met their special person.”
But before she was officially rejected from the farm, she said they got along really well “from the moment we met”.
“We shared similar values, especially around health and natural living, so conversation felt easy and natural,” she shared.
Maddison reacts to being rejected by Farmer Alex
At the time, Maddison confirmed she was “disappointed” but “understood and respected his decision”.
“You could say I was disappointed at the time. I would have liked the opportunity to share more about myself and get to know him more. However, at the same time, I understood and respected his decision,” she added.
“Relationships can’t be forced, and if his feelings were stronger for someone else, then I am grateful he made that decision.”
While I must admit that I was surprise that Maddison didn’t make it back, Farmer Alex’s decision makes me believe that he and frontrunner Eddy are going quite steady… But I guess we’ll have to wait and see on that final decision.
