Farmer Wants A Wife (FWAW) 2025 winner Clarette Annalisa has finally broken her silence on the reality TV rodeo in a lengthy blog post, and boy, it’s quite the bucking ride!
Earlier this week, FWAW officially hung up its cowboy hat for 2025, with four out of the five farmers successfully finding love. One of the farmers to have succeeded in his quest for a wife was Farmer Thomas, who picked Clarette to be his lover.
And to make things even better, the pair confirmed at the reunion episode that they were going strong despite all the drama they went through this season.
While the duo got their fairytale ending, Clarette’s time on the show wasn’t as smooth sailing as you’d think. You see, throughout the season, some fans pointed out that the NSW-based teacher had seemingly copped the “villain edit”, with 2024 winner Daisy Lamb urging fans to “calm down” with the hate.

Clarette’s co-star and finalist, Rachael, also spoke out against the “characterisation” of Clarette, admitting in a recent blog post that she’d been hurt by how people were talking about the winner during the show’s run.
“I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t deeply hurt by the characterisation of my friend Clarette,” Rachael said in a Substack article.
“For someone I know personally to receive such negativity and criticism has been difficult to observe, and I’m not even the person experiencing it. It wouldn’t be in my nature not to speak up about someone I care about. She is strong, brave, incredibly kind and knows her worth.
“I was (and still am) incredibly grateful for all her support, now and throughout filming, especially when we were navigating our own individual feelings and connections.”

But now, with the season finally over, Clarette has finally broken her silence, stating that she’s “ready to roar” about her time on the show. Here’s what the FWAW 2025 victor had to say.
Clarette breaks her silence on Farmer Wants A Wife 2025
Clarette slams the edit on Farmer Wants A Wife
In her lengthy blog post, Clarette admitted that her time on the show “wasn’t something [she] considered lightly” and noted that the light-hearted moments were left out of the final edit.
“My time on a television show wasn’t something I considered lightly. I came in open-hearted, ready to explore something genuine, but realised too late that reality TV rarely captures actual reality,” she began.
“The version of me on screen was a curated character — crafted through orchestrated edits and questionable storytelling. Reality television thrives on noise, conflict and contrast. What you don’t see are the quiet moments — lending an ear, lifting spirits, the laughs, the cries and all the inbetweens after the cameras stop rolling, or offering comfort on a road where you don’t know where you are going and don’t have a map.”
Elsewhere in the statement, Clarette shared that she has watched reality TV before and that she’s been in the viewers’ shoes in questioning the contestants and their intentions on the show.
“I’ve watched ‘reality’ TV before and I’ve felt the same watching it, ‘Oh they must really be like that because how can you make somebody into somebody they’re not?’ What followed were staged scenarios and frankenbitten soundbites — spliced phrases used to shape a narrative I never consented to,” she penned.
“The result? A distorted image and perception of me. I’ve been called ‘polarising’, ‘dramatic’ and ‘disingenuous’ (and they’re the ones I can print). But that woman on screen. However, edited — was also complex, vulnerable, raw; it was just never shown.
“It’s still too easy to misconstrue a woman’s strength as a threat. When women go after what they want, not wanting to waste their own or others’ time, it’s reframed through desperation and criticism. But even with the misrepresentation, the experience gave me something invaluable: perspective, growth, and a deeper understanding of my worth.”

Clarette on having to compete with other women for Farmer Thomas
Further in her statement, Clarette said that she struggled with the concept of competing with other women for a man’s heart, penning that the whole concept of FWAW “is just not what [she’s] about” — and honestly, I totally get that. She also adds that it was an “unnatural environment” forming friendships with her fellow co-stars, who were also vying for Farmer Thomas.
“This was completely out of my realm,” she began.
“The concept of one man being polygamous whilst the women (yes, multiple) sit at home waiting for that one man to be chosen for a date is just not what I’m about. It’s an unnatural environment where you form friendships with other women who are all dating the same person.
“In reality, you date someone and yes they may be dating other people at that time and you might be too but you don’t live with those people or are friends with them. You are not forced to hear and watch it all and then asked multiple questions with hypothetical scenarios and situations flying at you that then are the only comments grabbed and aired.”
Clarette slams rumour she was on the show for Visa
While on the show, nasty rumours surfaced in the gossip pages, claiming that Clarette was on the show to nab a visa or was vying for Thomas for his wallet, which she both shut down in her blog post.
“There’s been plenty said about who I am and what I represent. I didn’t sign up to play a part,” she wrote.
“I’m not a paid actor (although that did make me laugh), I didn’t go on for a visa (I have an Australian passport), I didn’t go on to win a prize (my life is not a game to me). I’m not a gold digger (I am financially independent), I moved here on my own, I live in my own house, I pay my own bills, and I found myself a full-time job.”

Clarette says she wouldn’t do Farmer Wants A Wife again and doesn’t regret the experience
While she met Thomas in “an unconventional way” she admits that the experience has made them “closer and stronger”.
“Would I go through that process again? No. But do I regret it? Not for a second,” she penned before revealing that she and Thomas should’ve left the show “sooner”.
“We should have left a lot sooner than we did, but unfortunately, when you’re in a contract and people’s jobs are dependent on you staying, it puts you in a difficult position.
“I wanted Tom to have the fullest experience possible, exploring every connection when the new girls arrive, and I didn’t want him to cut his own journey short and ever regret it. But he was right, we should have walked when he wanted to; hindsight is a beautiful thing.”
Since sharing her blog post, readers have come forward with messages of support for Clarette, with many wishing her and Thomas “happiness and pure joy”.
Honestly, it sucked seeing Clarette get completely dragged for her “strong personality”. Like, God forbid a woman knows what she wants and that’s a country hunk of spunk, right?
At least she was able to go the distance and become one of FWAW‘s many success stories. Love this for her!
