Frank Ocean fans have gotten themselves into a tizzy for what feels like the millionth time, after speculating that a new album from the elusive singer might be on the horizon.
Chatter of a new project arose on social media earlier this month, when an Instagram user spotted posters with the word “Frank” being hung around Tokyo.
According to the user, the posters included a QR code which linked to an Instagram account with the username @franciswupperman.
Apparently people are putting up Frank Ocean posters in Tokyo. The QR code scans and leads to an account that has 'May 22nd' in the bio. The account only follows Frank Ocean. I wouldn't hold your hopes high, since the official Blonded account doesn't follow this account back. pic.twitter.com/7WvbGUI2vM

Here’s where it really gets juicy, because while that page — which has since amassed nearly 70,000 followers — was left blank for a few days, it yesterday shared a three-slide post with Ocean’s name in bold font.
In the Ocean-verse, that’s a new album breadcrumb that’s about the size of Jupiter, and speculation only intensified when users discovered that the account follows the singer himself.
“FRANK”, the account captioned the cryptic post, “a tale of three parts…begins next week.”
While fans were quick to relish in the supposed album launch — which would arrive almost ten years after 2016’s Blonde — others were a little more skeptical.

“Prank Ocean”, one fan wrote, while another declared they “won’t believe it until I have the vinyl in my hands”.
The skepticism is totally far, since Ocean (or his ever-hopeful fans) seems to tease albums like I tease my sister, which is to say… very often.
While we won’t know whether the speculation is the real deal until the mysterious “next week” deadline hits, we can at least rest assured that some Ocean content is definitely coming our way.
The singer’s currently untitled directorial debut is confirmed to be in the works, with Alien: Romulus star David Jonsson announced in the lead role back in January.
Here’s hoping the movie is a better offering than Ocean’s 2023 headlining Coachella set, which many of us fans would prefer to forget.
