Fans noticed what former Arsenal star Alex Iwobi did after the Everton match

Former Arsenal star Alex Iwobi scored the first goal of his Everton career in the Toffees' 4-2 win over Lincoln City on Wednesday night.

The 23-year-old left the Emirates Stadium this summer in a deal worth an initial £28m, rising to £34m with potential add-ons.

He came off the bench in the 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa in the Premier League to make his debut, with the Carabao Cup tie against Lincoln his first start for his new side.

Everton initially trailed the League One side, going behind in the opening minute, before Everton equalised and later went 2-1 ahead. The Imps then grabbed an equaliser of their own, but with 10 minutes remaining, Iwobi made his impact, heading home from close range to score the first goal of his Everton career as the Toffees went on to win 4-2.

"It was a difficult game," Iwobi told Sky Sports. "Credit to Lincoln. The important thing is we're through. We showed our fighting spirit. I'm enjoying this new chapter of my life. Every competition we take seriously."

Unai Emery: Arsenal showed 'character' against Liverpool

Following his interview, Iwobi headed over to the Everton fans, pointing at the club's crest on his shirt, a gesture that didn't go unnoticed by fans.

Iwobi is still popular among Arsenal fans, with a number of Gooners praising the young attacker for his goal and wishing him well at Goodison Park. And Everton's fans were also quick to praise him.

Everton's reward for a win over Lincoln with a trip to face Sheffield Wednesday in the next round, while Arsenal have been drawn at home to Nottingham Forest, where they will welcome former Gunner Carl Jenkinson back to the Emirates Stadium.
