Fans mistake ITV Love Island's Iain Stirling for Hollywood star as he steps out with wife Laura Whitmore

Love Island narrator Iain Stirling was mistaken for a Hollywood star by fans as he stepped out with wife Laura Whitmore.

The glamourous couple were snapped on the blue carpet at ITV Palooza at London's Royal Festive Hall on Tuesday (November 15). Laura wore an elegant black trouser and cropped suit-jacket combo, with silver bead detailing cascading from the bottom of the jacket.

She paired the look with silver heels and a red lipstick. Meanwhile Iain sported a baby blue velvet jacket with a white shirt and black bow-tie, as well as a pair of black trousers and smart shoes.

Iain and Laura, who welcomed their first daughter together last year, began dating in July 2017 after meeting at an ITV bash. The couple tied the knot in 2020 after getting engaged in South Africa the previous year.

Posting the picture to Instagram, Iain captioned it: "In this relationship we both wear (and don’t wear) the trousers!" Friends and fans were quick to compliment the couple.

@charis_jamieson commented: "Defo a good looking couple" with a heart-eye emoji as @lady_janegray said: "You both look amazing!"

@452sueclare said: "You look amazing as does your wife" and @margaretrhughes added: "Gorgeous couple" with a heart-eye emoji.

However many couldn't help but compare the comedian to a Hollywood actor. Instagram user @jboltonstagram commented: "Honestly thought Laura was with Ryan Reynolds," with a laughing-face emoji while @persarkistoni echoed: "Thought it was Ryan Reynolds."

Other compared Iain to another famous Ryan. @wozzas13 penned: "At first glance I thought that you were Ryan Gosling, with a shocked face emoji as @avril7654 said: "I thought it was Ryan Gosling" with a heart-eye emoji.

@philippasmith1989 gushed: "Ermmmm hello The UKs answer to Ryan Reynolds & Blake Lively".
