New Zealand icon and songstress of my life story, Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O’Connor, famously known as Lorde, has seemingly sent fans into a tizzy with one of the artworks featured on her Virgin vinyl.
ICYMI, Lorde has come back with a new album titled Virgin, which features bangers like “Man Of The Year” — which already has its own TikTok trend — and “Current Affairs”.
While most fans are fawning over the new tunes, others have been left gobsmacked over the vinyl’s artwork, which features a snapshot of what punters have labelled “Lordussy”.
You see, the artwork features a close-up photo of what appears to be Lorde’s pubic area, which is made visible by a pair of clear pants.
Take a peek below for the visual:

Shortly after the artwork made its way to social media, many folks expressed their confusion and their reactions to the image in the form of memes and puns.

On the other side, others have expressed that the image is not as bloody shocking as others are making it out to be, with many noting that it’s just hair and that you can barely see anything graphic.
Personally, as someone who was absolutely DOWN for the “full bush in a bikini” movement on TikTok earlier this year, the reaction to this artwork is disappointing yet so unsurprising.
For folks who need a refresher, the “full bush in a bikini” was a phrase coined by Sujindah (@sujindah), who praised an anonymous individual for sharing a bikini bottom Etsy review that featured an image of someone with pubic hair.
“I won’t share it, but there was this one Etsy review for a bikini where the girl had a full bush, and I got radicalised by that Etsy review,” they said.
“Like yeah, that’s how it should be. That’s how it should be.”
That being said, the reactions to the “Lordussy” are not surprising because I also remember how folks responded to Lorde’s album cover for Solar Power, which featured an upshot of her buns.
Oh, man… Maybe one day we can all just be full bushing in a bikini FREELY, ‘cos honestly, full bush in clear pants for the sake of art wasn’t that bad. But hey, that’s just my two cents.
