Fans faint at Wimbledon as temperatures soar

  • During the Wimbledon semi-final between Aryna Sabalenka and Amanda Anisimova, play was paused twice due to fans fainting on Centre Court.
  • Both incidents occurred during the first set of the match, which was played in temperatures reaching 29 degrees Celsius.
  • On each occasion, Sabalenka went to the stands to offer bottles of water to the affected spectators.
  • Security and medical personnel attended to the fans, who were subsequently escorted out of the arena.
  • The match experienced temporary delays as a result.
