Fans confused by Mollie King's appearance at the Grammy Awards 2020

Viewers of the Grammy Awards at home were confused by the appearance of Mollie King on the red carpet.

The member of the classic girl band The Saturdays and former Strictly Come Dancing contestant, 32, was not nominated and hasn't released much in the way of musical content recently.

Her spokesperson also confirmed to Huffington Post that she was attending the ceremony for pleasure and not business reasons.

The Radio 1 DJ had previously put in an appearance at Clive Davis' annual Pre-Grammys Gala the night before the ceremony.

The singer of the Saturdays hits such as All Fired Up and Issues left fans bemused by her appearance but she certainly turned heads in her plunging gold dress.

One fan wrote on Twitter: "anyone has any information about why mollie king from the saturdays was on the red carpet for the grammys PLEASE contact me. DMs open."

Another tweeted: "I need to know why Mollie King was at the Grammys"

Meanwhile, another saw the funny side and wrote: "Who on earth in the academy thought, oh s**t lads, don’t forget to send Mollie King an invite"

One Twitter user wrote: "WHY WAS MOLLIE KING AT THE GRAMMYS"

Finally, one was just pleased to see her: "Mollie King of The Sats has just walked the red carpet. POP EMERGENCY DECLARED."

Regardless of the lack of explanation, it's always nice to see Miss Mollie.
