A Bo'ness family have been left terrified after a thug 'kicked in their front door and demanded cash'.
The incident happened shortly after 7am on Tuesday November, 2, on Erngath Road.
It's understood the man entered the property and started pushing a woman around and asking for cash, which was witnessed by her young son.
Her husband had just left for work 20 minutes before the drama unfolded.
Posting on Facebook, he said: "This morning (Tuesday) I left for work at 7am, and after I drove away a burglar came up the drive and kicked our door in.
"He tried to steal some items but my wife came downstairs to see what was going on and he grabbed her and pushed her around, demanding money.
"Finally he had a change of heart and ran off. Unfortunately one of our young children saw what happened. Both of them (and my wife) are quite shaken up.
"The police came very quickly from Grangemouth and were really helpful.
"He was fairly tall, dark hair, unshaven/bearded, smelled of alcohol, seemed a bit crazy, probably late 40s.
"We are at The Knowe on Erngath Road. We have been in Bo'Ness around 18 months now, and otherwise it has been great.
"If anyone saw anyone on the street early this morning or has any info that could help, please let me or the police know - for peace of mind we would like him caught."
An investigation has started and officers are asking anyone with information to contact them.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received report of a robbery at a property on Erngath Road in Bo'ness around 7.20am on Tuesday, 2 November, 2021.
"Enquiries are at an early stage and ongoing."
