Family guide to new movie releases

'IN THE HEIGHTS'

Rated PG-13 for some language and suggestive references.

What it’s about: A musical set in the New York City neighborhood of Washington Heights, which is on the precipice of change.

The kid attractor factor: Kids and teens will be drawn to the gloriously spectacular song and dance.

Good lessons/bad lessons: Listen to your heart, say what you feel, always remember there's no place like home.

Violence: None.

Language: Some slangy mature language, no extended swearing.

Sex: A kiss here and there, references to sex.

Drugs: None.

Parents’ advisory: A dizzyingly delightful musical for the whole family. Anything mature will likely go over the heads of the youngest ones.

'CENSOR'

No MPAA Rating

What it’s about: A young woman working at a censorship board in England dives into the world of the video nasties she edits.

The kid attractor factor: This horror flick is aimed at an adult audience, fans of the horror genre.

Good lessons/bad lessons: Don't lose yourself too much in imaginary worlds.

Violence: Some gruesome and bloody impalings and axe murders.

Language: Some swearing.

Sex: References to sexual violence, an attempted sexual assault.

Drugs: None.

Parents’ advisory: This is an arch, artful and intellectual horror flick, but a horror flick no less. Please take caution. Okay for mature teens.
