Family and friends of Dami respond as Love Island star 'painted as villain' and trolls hijack Instagram

Family and friends of Love Island star Dami Hope have responded after the 26-year-old went from a fan favourite to receiving backlash online as the girls headed off to Casa Amor and their relationships were put to the test.

The microbiologist left fans fuming after Monday night's show, where he was seen talking to new girl Summer before she lent in for a kiss.

Trolls flocked to the 26-year-old's Instagram to bash him after they deemed the snog as 'cheating'.

A second said: "ughhhhfhrhhrudufhf give Indiyah some respect".

While a third commented: "Dami is so disloyal, he could even keep it in for 2 days! Ode"

After their former partners, Amber and Ikenna were dumped from the Island, Indiyah and Dami quickly became what many fans saw as the strongest couple as they formed a deeper connection that seemed almost too good to be true.

Viewers let their thoughts be known after the kiss as they hinted that Dami had just lost himself the £50k prize fund by kissing Summer.

They said: "Lost 50k in one day.. Shame".

"I'm so disappointed in Dami. Him and Indiayah would have won it. Well done for fumbling the bag," said another.

However, Dami's friends and family have defended the star saying producers had "painted him as the villain".

Taking to the scientist's Instagram stories, they allowed others to share their opinion through a question box.

One person wrote: "The producers did him dirty ngl, they really making him out as the Casa Amor Villian".

To which family running his account responded: "Let's talk about it! The trailer really did nothing but painted him as the villain, while the episode showed that was not the case".

Another said: "This is love Island, fair play to Dami for actually not being safe and being himself".

To which they answered: "Dami is just being himself with no filter. Acting the same way he would inside and outside the Villa."

The temporary social media manager then asked that people remember to be kind online, sharing another answer box opinion which read: "People need to relax with the hate, it's just a show".

They responded: "Yess, everyone is entitled to their opinion but allow the hateful messages".

However, there is still hope for the pair as the contestants have yet to decide whether to stay in their current couple or turn their heads.
