Family members and friends have come together for a solemn ceremony to pay tribute to the victims of the tragic attack that took place at the Nova Music Festival in southern Israel on October 7. Among those in attendance was Danielle Cohen, who shared the heartbreaking story of her cousin, Mor Meir Trabalsi, who lost his life while trying to protect his loved ones.
Trabalsi, a 27-year-old newlywed, displayed immense bravery during the attack. As he drove his wife and friends away from the festival, he instructed them to take cover in the car while he continued to drive, ultimately sacrificing his own life to save theirs. Tragically, Trabalsi was fatally shot during the ordeal.
Cohen recounted the harrowing experience faced by the survivors, who were stranded in the car with Trabalsi's body for approximately five hours before being rescued by the Israeli army. She described her cousin as the pillar of their family, highlighting his warm personality and the deep connections he had with his extensive circle of friends.
Reflecting on Trabalsi's recent wedding, Cohen shared that the joyous occasion had been a grand celebration with over 800 guests in attendance. She emphasized that Trabalsi's popularity was evident in the vast number of friends who surrounded him, underscoring his magnetic personality and the positive impact he had on those around him.
