Team Falcons sign Karrigan as new in-game leader to replace kyxsan

Team Falcons have signed Finn “Karrigan” Andersen, completing one of the biggest Counter-Strike 2 transfers in recent memory.

The Danish in-game leader joins from FaZe Clan and steps into Falcons’ active lineup after the organization benched Damjan “kyxsan” Stoilkovski earlier today.

Karrigan becomes another stone in the Falcons’ Infinity Gauntlet, and he’s being brought in to give the star-studded CS2 roster much-needed direction, leadership, and winning mentality.

Falcons finished third at IEM Rio this week, even beating the ever-powerful Team Vitality during the Group Stage, and that result was followed immediately by kyxsan’s removal from the active roster. With kyxsan, Falcons won PGL Bucharest 2025 but also finished second at six other events, which is a very apt summary of the team’s main problem over the past year: close, but not enough.

FaZe confirmed his departure after a five-year stint that delivered the organization’s first Major title, eight notable LAN wins, and the Intel Grand Slam Season 4. That period also included deep Major runs in Copenhagen, Shanghai, and Budapest.

The recent run of poor results likely played its part in the organization going for such a drastic change.

Falcons has a phenomenal roster on paper: young Russian phenoms in Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov and Maksim “kyousuke” Lukin, a solid entry in René “TeSeS” Madsen, and now two super-experienced legends of the game, Nikola “NiKo” Kovač and Finn “Karrigan” Andersen. The latter is clearly brought in to stabilize the squad, offer his perspective, shotcall the games, as well as just coach the youngsters to instill the winning mentality and stress-resistance he himself is known for.

Only time will tell if this was the right move for the Saudi organization, but this is as clear an indication of ambition as they could have made.

Team Falcons Counter-Strike 2 roster:

  • Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov
  • Maksim “kyousuke” Lukin
  • René “TeSeS” Madsen
  • Nikola “NiKo” Kovač
  • Finn “Karrigan” Andersen

It is currently unknown who’s set to replace Karrigan at FaZe.
