The Atlanta Falcons got a couple of special visitors at practice today in Flowery Branch.
According to Vaughn McClure at ESPN, former Atlanta linebacker Jessie “The Hammer” Tuggle was on hand for practice. In addition to being an all-time great defender, he’s also the father of defensive tackle Grady Jarrett.
Tuggle was a five-time Pro Bowler for Atlanta. In 209 games from 1987-2000, he posted 1,804 combined tackles and 21 sacks. He definitely belongs in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, but he’s yet to be voted in.
Former Falcons wide receiver Roddy White was also at practice.
White is the team’s all-time leading receiver, but it should not take long for Julio Jones to pass him this season. He needs just 133 receiving yards.
