Falcons fans react on Twitter to team releasing Robert Alford after 6 seasons

The Robert Alford era in Atlanta is over. After six seasons of playing cornerback for the Falcons, Alford is being released, according to multiple media reports. Despite being an integral part of the team’s Super Bowl run in the 2016 season, it seems most fans have since soured on Alford.

Here’s how they’re reacting on Twitter to the news of Alford’s release.

Alford deserves credit for his play in 2016 – the highlight of his NFL career so far may have been picking off Tom Brady in the Super Bowl, right before everything went south – including a dropped interception by Alford that might have sealed the game. Alford played in 88 regular season games for Atlanta, posting 10 interceptions, 85 pass breakups and two pick-sixes.
