When the Falcons signed veteran punter Matt Wile to their practice squad earlier this week, it was a precautionary measure in case Matt Bosher wouldn’t be able to go.
According to Falcons head coach Dan Quinn, Bosher will not play on Sunday against the Colts.
This means Wile will get the start for Atlanta over the weekend. The 27-year-old journeyman was solid last year for the Minnesota Vikings.
He averaged 45.2 yards per punt on 72 attempts in 2018. Wile can also handle the team’s kickoff duties, allowing kicker Matt Bryant to focus on field goals.
