Falcons coach Dan Quinn comments on starts for Chris Lindstrom, Kaleb McGary

The Falcons’ two first-round picks — Chris Lindstrom and Kaleb McGary — have had rocky starts to their NFL careers thus far. It’s not that they have played poorly, though. McGary needed a heart procedure that kept him out for the majority of Atlanta’s preseason. Then in Week 1, Lindstrom broke his foot against the Minnesota Vikings.

Head coach Dan Quinn commented on both rookie offensive linemen during Monday’s press conference. Quinn said McGary is getting closer to playing a full game.

Meanwhile, Lindstrom is out for at least eight weeks after the team put him on injured reserve with his broken foot.

Despite the injury, Quinn said he was still proud of the way Lindstrom played in Week 1.

The Falcons are no doubt frustrated since they were already in a tough situation by having to integrate three new starters along their offensive line.

Backup Jamon Brown is the next man up for the Falcons at right guard while Lindstrom recovers.
