Fake site selling tickets for Leeds Christmas fair with rides, ice skating and German market shuts down

A website selling tickets for a fake Christmas funfair, ice rink and German market at a Leeds park has shut down.

The website 'Christmas Festival of Light' was selling tickets for an event on Woodhouse Moor in Hyde Park but it has since been removed and is now targeting a different city, according to Leeds City Council.

West Yorkshire Police have also been made aware of the fake event.

The website has allegedly been targeting different cities across the country with fake events.

A spokesperson for the Leeds City Council said: “A fake website was created for this event at Woodhouse Moor, however, that page has now been closed and it appears that it’s now aimed at a different city. West Yorkshire Police are also aware of this issue.”
