Fairyhouse Racecourse kicked a punter out after he 'threw a beer at losing horse'

Fairyhouse Racecourse kicked a punter out after he appeared to throw a beer at a losing horse.

Racing TV footage showed a spectator appear to chuck their container at Grand Paradis, which was being raced by Davy Russell during the New Year's Day meet.

A clip shared on social media shows the pint flying towards the racehorse and jockey Russell.

The empty cup then bounced off the turf during the contest won by 5-6 favourite Jungle Boogie.

And Fairyhouse released a statement after the video did the rounds on social media.

The racecourse tweeted: "Following the running of the 6th race, we were aware of an incident regarding a member of the general public.

"We identified the man, took his details & removed him from the course."

And viewers condemned the action with one saying: "Ban for life."

While another added: "Utterly disgraceful."

And another said: "Despicable behaviour."
