Fadiga Ouattara in Celtic transfer link as chase heats up for in-demand Lille striker

Rising Lille star Fadiga Ouattara is being monitored by Premiership champions Celtic - according to a report.

The 18-year-old attacker who can play in a variety of positions across the front three is highly thought of in his homeland after his impressive displays in this season's UEFA Youth League.

Celtic have a strong recent history of developing French talent with Moussa Dembele adding to his burgeoning reputation before a £20m move to Lyon and Odsonne Edouard thriving as the club's talisman.

And now respected French journalist Manu Lonjon claims the Premiership champions have emerged as possible contenders for a player who is being tracked by the likes of RB Leipzig and Valencia.

It comes after MailSport exclusively revealed Celtic had run the rule over Legia Warsaw left-back Michal Karbownik before his agent cooled talks over a switch to Scotland on Wedensday.

The link with Ouattara, via Get French Football News comes only a day after Hops recruitment guru Gary Penrice lifted the lid on his bumper watchlist he's currently preparing for Neil Lennon and Nick Hammond.

He said: "Celtic’s market is absolutely huge. It’s global. I am currently watching 240 players.

"Nick Hammond is there who I worked with at West Brom, I get on well with Nick. But prior to then I sorted scouting department out at QPR, I was at West Brom and Everton running their scouting networks.

"I also had my own scouting project, which is one of the biggest in Europe. And I do it all from home."
