Facebook Live murder threat issued as Edinburgh neighbours' bitter feud hit menacing new level

A food bank volunteer threatened to murder her neighbour in a Facebook Live video during a bitter feud.

Nikita Hunter, 33 was involved in a long-running dispute with Stephanie Thomson whom she targeted in the twisted social media footage.

Hunter pled guilty yesterday to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by posting live videos on Facebook in which she uttered threats of violence towards Stephanie.

Edinburgh Sheriff Court was told the incident happened on March 29.

Fiscal depute Miriam Clark said Hunter and Stephanie were involved in a “feud” when “matters escalated”.

Ms Clark said Stephanie received the communication from Hunter “threatening to murder her”.

Defence agent Peter Winning said his client accepted her behaviour was “wholly unacceptable”.

Mr Winning said the feud between the women had been going on for two years.

The solicitor said Hunter, from the city’s Gilmerton area, was volunteering at a food bank and was receiving support for her issues with alcohol.

Sheriff Adrian Cottam deferred sentence on Hunter until December for her to be of good behaviour.
