FACEBOOK users across the UK are reporting that the site is down this morning amid a “site issue”.
The desktop version of Facebook seems to be unavailable for users, but the app version of the social media site appears to be working.
Users are being faced with the message: "Account Temporarily Unavailable. Your account is currently unavailable due to a site issue. We expect this to be resolved shortly. Please try again in a few minutes."
The website DownDetector has shown a spike in searches for “Facebook down” as of 9am this morning with users flocking to other social media sites to complain about the outage.
More than 5000 people have reported the site being down on the website between 8am and 9am on Sunday morning.
Some Meta users are also reporting issues with their Instagram accounts.
There have been reports that users have been met with an empty live feed and are faced with a message that reads: "When you follow people, they will appear here."
