Fabricio Bustos in Celtic transfer link as Parkhead club in 'pole position' for Argentina right-back

Celtic are said to be casting their net wide in the hunt for a right-back, with Argentina international Fabricio Bustos the latest name linked.

The summer rebuild is well under way at Parkhead as manager Ange Postecoglou looks to shape the squad in his own image.

Right-back remains a priority position, with Anthony Ralston struggling in the Europa League win over Jablonec on Thursday, and Aurelio Buta of Antwerp has been heavily linked.

Now though a report in France states that Celtic 's real top target may be Independiente star Bustos.

According to website Homme du Match, the defender was a potential target for Lens if Jonathan Clauss were to depart.

With the Frenchman set to stay though the club are not likely to invest in that position, and it's reported that Bustos has been offered to other clubs.

Brazilian giants Santos are one, but Celtic are said to be in pole position to complete a deal for the 25-year-old.

A fee of around £3.4million would be required to bring him to the Scottish Premiership, but Independiente are open to selling.

Bustos has been capped twice by Argentina, with his debut coming in a 2-0 win over Italy in March 2018.
