FA to investigate Thomas Tuchel's Anthony Taylor comments after Chelsea's draw with Tottenham

The FA will investigate Thomas Tuchel's comments regarding Anthony Taylor following Chelsea's dramatic draw with Tottenham on Sunday afternoon. Tuchel was furious with Taylor and claimed both of Spurs' goals should have been ruled out by the referee at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea led in the London derby twice following goals from Kalidou Koulibaly and Reece James, but Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Harry Kane ensured the points were shared at Stamford Bridge. For Hojbjerg's goal, Richarlison was stood in an offside position, and Tuchel thinks the Brazilian was impeding the view of Edouard Mendy in the Chelsea goal. There was also an incident between Rodrigo Bentancur, where he appeared to foul Kai Havertz around 40 seconds before Hojbjerg smashed the ball past Mendy.

Meanwhile, Cristian Romero appeared to pull Marc Cucurella's hair in the build-up to Kane's stoppage-time equaliser. The Video Assistant Referee, Mike Dean, then looked at the incident but decided not to take any further action against the Spurs centre-back.

Tuchel said this to the press after the game: "I don't think just some of the fans think that [a few decisions went against Chelsea]. I can assure you the whole dressing room of us, every single person, thinks that.

"I can't understand how the first goal is not offside, and I can't understand when a player is pulled by their hair, the other player stays on the pitch. Pull someone else's hair, stay on the pitch and attack the last corner.

"This is for me without any explanation, and I don't want to accept it. Both goals should not stand, and it's a fair result because we were brilliant, and deserved to win. This is my point of view."

Tuchel was then asked about Taylor's history with Chelsea and how the supporters generally dislike the referee. He replied: "Not only the fans. You know the players. They know what's going on when they are on the pitch. They know it."

Those comments from the Chelsea head coach will now be investigated, but he is already facing a touchline ban after being shown a red card at full-time following a bust-up with Spurs boss Antonio Conte. Tuchel was left incensed after Conte failed to make eye contact when the two embraced each other when the full-time whistle was blown. The pair had already been involved in a heated argument earlier in the game after Conte celebrated in Tuchel's face when Hojbjerg equalised.
