F1 25 Season 3 Update Brings Subtle Car Tweaks, Driver Ratings Refresh, and More

The 2025 Formula 1 season is now down to its final six races. Right now, Oscar Piastri is the frontrunner with 324 points, with his McLaren teammate, Lando Norris, sitting behind him with 299. Simultaneously, F1 25 is rolling into Season 3 of its content cycle, and plenty of changes are coming.

For one, the game is celebrating Haas’s 10th year as a Formula 1 team with the “Decade of Speed” promotion, where unique liveries and helmet designs (among other things) can be unlocked. Beyond that, the team at Codemasters has provided some updates to various team identities and driver ratings.

All of the changes being made in Season 3 are listed below. You can also see the press release here if you’d like to visit the source.

  • Mercedes – Subtle reshaping of the car’s nose.
  • Racing Bulls – Front wing and side pod changes, plus updated sponsor positions.

Driver Ratings Update

Beyond cosmetic and visual changes, Driver Ratings have been updated to reflect the current form of select drivers. Here are the changes:

  • Max Verstappen (up to 94 OVR) – After a rocky start, his flawless Monza victory shows a possible comeback brewing. Gains in Awareness (+3) and Racecraft (+1) boost his rating.
  • Carlos Sainz (down to 84 OVR) – Costly collisions and penalties have dragged his rating down from its early-season high of 90. Drops across Racecraft (-3), Awareness (-4), and Pace (-1).
  • Gabriel Bortoleto (up to 78 OVR) – The rookie has powered Sauber’s resurgence with consistent points finishes. Across-the-board boosts raise his rating by four.
  • Fernando Alonso (up to 89 OVR) – Despite a tough start and retirement in Monza, the Aston Martin veteran has rebounded with strong mid-season form. Gains in Awareness (+1) and Pace (+2).
