A major emergency services operation is underway after reports of an ‘explosion’ at a house near Falkirk.
Fire crews, police and paramedics have been called to the scene on Broomage Crescent in Larbert after the alarm was raised at 1.40pm on Saturday.
At least seven fire appliances are currently in attendance with a further five - including specialist resources - on the way.
Police Scotland have urged members of the public to stay away from the area while the incident remains ongoing.
It is not currently known whether anyone has been injured.
Pictures from the scene show thick black smoke billowing out of the affected property as fire crews use hose jets to try extinguish the flames.
A video seen by the Daily Record shows the roof of the terraced house has completely collapsed in from the force of the explosion.
Residents reported hearing a 'loud bang' before the fire took hold.
A police spokesperson said: "Around 1.40pm on Saturday, 26 February, police were called to reports of an explosion at a property on Broomage Crescent, Larbert.
"Emergency services are at the scene and we would advise people to avoid the area at this time."
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they are also in attendance.
The Scottish Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.
