The summer holidays have kicked off in Glasgow and airports are seeing droves of passengers jetting off to tourist hotspots.
While many squirrel away money ahead of their break away, many don't consider saving dosh once they've arrived when, actually, it can easily be avoided.
One travel hack went viral on TikTok thanks to a Glasgow tourist all about ATMs and was backed by Money Saving Expert, Martin Lewis.

To follow up from that, another saving guru has taken to TikTok to share their way of cutting costs while abroad.
Experts at comparison site, Monito, suggest travellers pay close attention to when they're paying for a bill with their card.
A Monito representative said: "Whenever you are abroad always select to pay in the local currency. What I mean is that when you are handed the card machine you might be asked whether you want to pay in the local currency or your currency.
"This is a trick. The bank or payment provider want you to select your currency instead of the local one so that they can give you a poor exchange rate and then profit off the difference compared to the real exchange rate."
Many followers were not aware of the hack.
One commented: "Just happened to me here in Spain. I said Euros, which is their currency here. Glad I said that now."
Another added: "I worked at the airport for 10 years and every time we said that to customers they thought we wanted to fool them."
While a third wrote: "Learned that the hard way last year. Now I’m in Portugal and always select local currency."
