Darren Bent believes Tottenham forward Harry Kane is better than Man City’s leading marksman Sergio Aguero.
Aguero wrote his name into the history books on Sunday afternoon after his hat-trick against Aston Villa took him past Thierry Henry's record of 175 goals.
The Argentine also surpassed Alan Shearer's hat-trick record in England’s top-flight after his treble at Villa Park to make it an afternoon to remember.
But despite these impressive stats, Bent believes Kane, who will be missing from action until April with a hamstring injury, has scored more important goals and been more consistent in the Premier League.
"I think if they are both on top form and both are at the height of their performances then I’d put Kane ahead of him, yeah,” Bent told talkSPORT on Monday afternoon.
"I think statistically he's scored more important goals.
"There was a stat saying that only a few players have scored more than 20 goals more than once and I think Kane has done it three or four times which is incredible.
"I think Aguero has only done it once.
"Which is scary considering how many goals he has got.
"So for me, if they are both on top, then I’d go Kane."
