Ex-Rangers star issues Joe Hart VAR warning over Celtic vs Ross County incident

Ex-Rangers star issues Joe Hart VAR warning over Celtic vs Ross County incident

JOE HART has been warned he will "need to be careful" when VAR comes into force in Scotland after an incident in the win over Ross County.

The Celtic keeper was involved in a flashhpoint with Jordan Tillson where he barged into the midfielder after catching the ball and looking to distribute quickly.

While no action was taken during the match, pundit and former Scotland international Alan Hutton has insisted Hart could've faced action if VAR had been in play.

The ex-Rangers full-back admits "a lot of it is nonsense" when it comes to incidents being checked but warned any incident leaves the ref with a decision to make.

Speaking to Football Insider, Hutton explained: “There’s always going to be aggression in football but you have to be very careful.

“As soon as you lift your arms, while in the middle of a game of football, if the referee sees it you can be called back for it.

“Soon enough VAR is going to be coming into play, so things will be getting checked.

"I think a lot of it is nonsense but players will be running the risk.

"As soon as you raise your arms you’re asking the ref to make a decision.

"So in the future I think he (Hart) will need to be careful."
