Former Rangers chief Ross Wilson is reportedly among the candidates under consideration for the sporting director vacancy at Newcastle.
The Daily Mail claims the Nottingham Forest sporting director is in the frame for the same position at St James' Park.
The report states that recruitment company, Nolan Partners, are conducting the search for Paul Mitchell's replacement.
Mitchell will leave the club at the end of the month, but it's said that his successor won't be in post before then.
Interviews are believed to be set to take place with several candidates.

And one of those is Wilson - who seemingly appears to have support from those internally at the Premier League giants.
Wilson, 41, has been in post at Forst since 2023 after he departed Ibrox. He held a similar position previously at Southampton.
The report claims Wilson meets the grade of having experience of operating at a Premier League club.
